ARCHITECTURE AND LENSES

Carr Haus Gallery, Curated by Cezar Nicolescu

Architecture is not a profession. It is a discipline. It is a pursuit of perspectives which connect the physical and psychological worlds. The works in this show reflect the plurality of process that students explore. Process isn't about getting to a finished constructed building, but about exploring human reality in the aesthetic and the technic. Our lenses are plant cells, ancient aqueducts, the archetypal labyrinth, and the reord-keeping methodologies of South-PAcific witch doctors. Make the connections.

CLOTHES-LINED

Carr Haus Gallery, Lindsay Degen

Clothes-lined is about the reconciliation between the garment and the materiality of the garment, and similarly between Textiles and Apparel majors. All works are either completed garments "clothes-lined" to obscure the cut or silhouette, or explore form and texture in the structure of the textile.

The show is about digging through a pile of laundry and knowing or recognizing a garment based on its softness, pattern, or texture. It is searching for the perfect thing in the one-dollar bin of a thrift store and considering the construction of the fabric before considering the form, silhouette, or size... It is taking clothes off and throwing them on the floor
